These terms of use govern the use of the mobile app "Ernterei" (the "app") and of the website ernterei.de (the "website"). The provider is Thomas Hobrecht, Oberer Hainberg 10, 37120 Bovenden, Germany (see Legal Notice). By registering an account you agree to these terms.
You can use the website without an account; it shows freely available knowledge articles and recipes. Sections 2 to 6 apply to the app only.
An account is required for personalised features. You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for all activity carried out through your account. The app is intended for your personal, non-commercial use.
You can delete your account yourself at any time (in the app under Profile → Delete account).
You can create your own content (journal entries, pantry items, recipes) and – if you actively choose to – publish posts, recipes and photos in the community. You alone are responsible for content you publish.
You retain the rights to your content. By publishing it you grant us the simple right to display that content within the app and make it accessible to other users. You warrant that you hold the necessary rights and do not infringe the rights of third parties.
This licence covers the app only: community content is not published on the website. The website shows our own, editorially selected content only.
A zero-tolerance policy applies to objectionable content and abusive behaviour. The following are prohibited in particular:
We remove impermissible content and may warn, suspend or delete the accounts concerned. Reported content and users are reviewed promptly – as a rule within 24 hours.
Every published post and recipe can be reported directly in the app. You can also block individual users – their content will then no longer be shown to you. These functions help us keep the community safe.

The recipe scan lets you have a photographed recipe read out automatically. The text recognition is automated and may be incomplete or incorrect – particularly with handwriting, unusual layouts or poorly legible sources.
Please always check the result and correct it before you use or publish the recipe. For quantities, times and ingredients – especially allergens and information on shelf life – the original source is authoritative, not the recognised result.
The feature is subject to a quota: currently 10 scans per month and no more than 5 scans per day, or 5 scans in total during a free trial period. We reserve the right to adjust these limits.
When scanning third-party sources, section 3 applies: you warrant that you hold the necessary rights. You may capture a recipe photographed from a cookbook for your own personal use – before publishing it in the community, please check whether you are entitled to do so. The photographed source itself is never published along with it.
The content of the app and the website is for general information only. It does not constitute foraging, identification or consumption advice and is not medical advice. With mushrooms and wild plants there is a risk of confusion with poisonous species – foraging and consumption are at your own risk.
The same applies to recipes and preserving: when canning, fermenting and smoking, cleanliness, temperature and time determine food safety. Canned meat, poultry and low-acid vegetables do not become sterile at 100 °C. Preparation, storage and consumption are at your own risk. Details in the Privacy Policy.
The app and the website are provided with the greatest possible care. No warranty is given as to the accuracy, completeness and timeliness of the content – in particular user-generated content. Liability for damage arising from use of the app or the website is limited to intent and gross negligence, to the extent permitted by law.
We may amend these terms of use where this is necessary for legal or functional reasons. We will give notice of material changes in an appropriate manner.
